About:

As an experienced freelance camera operator, filmmaker, editor & stills photographer, Carl is primarily Melbourne based cameraman but shoots worldwide, from Europe, South East Asia to Australia.

I specialise in creative work, web documentary and multimedia video production, with an emphasis on arts, performance and music related themes.

Due to my ability to offer all around services I offer cheaper rates than most as I don't have to outsource any work or hire equipment.

- Freelance hire rate rates include all equipment, preparation & liaison.

Music video prices can start from $1500 a day shoot editing from $100 per hour. (Travel & costs extra if for outside of local area).

Weddings from $1500 for short's real + 3000 for full day coverage, please enquire for full day shoot's.

Nader Rahy - The Switch (2019)

Nader Rahy is an accomplished musician with a wealth of experience with his own bands, as German Pop singer Nena's guitarist as well as with winning the world-wide Emergenza contest with his band "Nada Brama" in 2000.

This music video was filmed in Berlin, Prague and Budapest over a 6 day shoot. Filmed and edited by Carl Tomic in 2019.

Alice Rose - Berlin is for Dreamers (2018)

Alice Rose is a Danish vocalist, singer-songwriter, artist, poet, world traveller and busker. With her clear and pitch-perfect voice, heartfelt lyricism and minimal sound, she has created a harmonic and inspiring work of music.

The music video "Berlin is for Dreamers" was filmed, directed and edited by Carl Tomic in 2018 Berlin.

Kat Vinter - Sooner or Later (2014)

Kat Vinter was born out of the icy Berlin winter of 2012. The Australian nomadic songwriter retreated sometimes to the bunkers of local musicians, and sometimes to the smoke filled bars and pulsing clubs to think of lyric and melody ideas.

The Nightowl Session of this song was Directed and filmed by myself in Berlin 2014.

Amberdown - Hole in the Flaw (2019)

Since 2014, Amberdown have been gracing the stages of Perth, opening and supporting for many of the heavy metal greats.

I filmed, edited and directed their first music video, they had a small budget but we worked together to make an affordable yet presentable solution.

Busking for Berlin (2014) 83minutes

In 2013, I moved to Berlin to make a Documentary about Berlin's street music scene and to find out what it would be like to become a busker, he took a journalistic approach to the film and survived for a whole year only on the money he made from busking and documented the entire experience.
